Welcome to the Burmese House of Art.

OUR STORY

Due to the pandemic and the current unstable situation in Myanmar, many of the handicraft small businesses are struggling and many are out of business.

We started Burmese House of Art to support our fellow artisans, craftsmen and craftswomen, and MOST important of all, we are trying to preserve and strengthen our Burmese cultural heritage of craftsmanship.

ABOUT OUR ART

Burmese House of Art is an online gallery with authentic Burmese lacquerware art for purchase.

We want to share the Burmese culture with the rest of the world and Burmese House of Art brings traditional arts & crafts from Burma to your home, your office or your craft room. We specialize Burmese handmade lacquerware, straw painting, and tapestry and Buddha Alter decorations.

A multicolored lacquerware item takes approximately 6 months to complete. This is because the entire process involves more than a dozen of steps to complete. The finished product is a result of teamwork and not crafted by a single person.

Each piece of art is crafted authentically and some have details specific to our culture representing ancient era such as palace scenes, the tale of Jakata and the design of Burmese Zodiac.
